1930s Madame Alexander Doll Princess Elizabeth/Ana Mcguffey original straw hat with a satin ribbon and flowers. Hat is from my mothers Madame Alexander collection. She had a very extensive collection of all Madame alexander dolls from the beginning up to the early 1970s. It is for the 17" or 19" Princess Elizabeth/Ana Mcguffey doll. I no longer have her Alexander compo dolls to size it on. The top of the hat where the dolls head would fit measures almost 11.5" circumference. The across measurement for the bottom opening for the head is in photo #6. Book that I am showing the picture of the similar hat is Madame Alexander Collectors Guide by Glenn Mandeville(NOT included). It is modeled on a 17" hard plastic doll she is NOT included there is a little room to fit a bigger size head. Please read full description below. Hat is in decent shape for age and material. Straw is not rotted out and still good. The ribbon ties in the back I believe were supposed to be longer to tie around the neck like the book picture. They are frayed at the end and will not fit around the neck. You can still pin the hat or replace the ribbon. Ribbon has soil age as shown. Flower section is a nice full and overall decent for age. There is a few empty stems so some are missing however not noticeable when displayed because of the fullness. The flowers have age soil as shown. There is some wear, bends, and edge fray to some of the flowers as shown. The back bottom of the straw has a small spot of straw chip off but is hidden by the ribbon see close up it is minor. Few very tiny chips to a few spots of the straw however it is minor and not an issue. Inside seam stitches there is a few pop threads/hang threads. One is causing a very tiny gap in the straw you can only see it from the inside. Few of those hang threads on the outside. Hat straw coloring still decent few minor darker age spots however minor. All flaws shown in the photos. Hat is good displayable condition for age/material. Flaws are expected with age and the type of material. Photos taken in natural sunlight. I unfortunately had to change my handling time to 4 to 5 business days. I still ship quickly. However with the current condition of the post office and the slow down of the mail they are already holding packages for several days without any tracking scan acknowledgements. Please note I stay on top of all tracking numbers and I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause in this frustrating situation. I just want my customers to know there will be delivery delays.
