Description
A very rare English Edwardian antique solid sterling silver and glass dressing table box or pot. It is hallmarked for Birmingham 1910 with the makers mark being that of Arthur Johnson Smith. It has been superbly designed with the lid being in the form of a spiders web along with a spider and fly. It is in very good condition being free from dings splits and repairs. The glass is complete and free from chips repairs and cracks. The fly looks to have lost its wings but maybe the spider had those for lunch? It measures approx. 3 inches (7.6cm) tall by 2.5 inches (6cm) across and weighs 212 grams complete. A very unusually designed piece perfect for containing eyes of newts and toes of frogs.
