Description
A unique and rare example of Americana primitive folk art. One early custom was to hang a Halloween decoration or pumpkin doll somewhere on the front porch for protection from wandering spirits or just for fun. (note the wire in the back). Standing: 8"H x 4"W Sitting: 7"H Weight: 4.3 oz. A friendly jack-o-lantern wooden pumpkin face welcomes the viewer. The pantaloon costume is made of muslin in a green/white gingham pattern with fluffy ties & bows around the neck, an interesting & stylish detail reflecting the fashionable interest of the creator. Can sit on a shelf, standing may be a challenge unless supported. The doll is held up by a wooden interior support (feels like wood without opening the costume), and some type of small beads or granular objects inside the garment to fill out the bottom of the pantaloons, (again, without opening the costume) Stored in a smoke-free, pet-free environment. For the love of our planet, I recycle boxes & packaging.
